Red Clover Extract

Red clover extract comes from the wild plant red clover (trifolium pretense). This plant is used for grazing cattle and other animals. It has a lot of medicinal qualities to help treat different conditions. Back in the day this included cancer, whooping cough, respiratory problems, and skin inflammations, such as psoriasis and eczema. The clover was thought to clean the blood by acting as a diuretic and expectorant therefore improving circulation & cleansing the liver.

Red clover is a source of calcium, chromium, magnesium, niacin, phosphorus, potassium, thiamine, and vitamin C. Red clover is a rich source of isoflavones which are chemicals that act like estrogens.Traditionally, red clover ointments have been applied to the skin to treat psoriasis, eczema, and other rashes. Red clover also has a history of use as a cough remedy for children.Red clover is rich in vitamins A, Bl, B2, B3, B6, B12, and C, folic acid, pantothenic acid, biotin, choline, inositol, isoflavonoids, bioflavonoids zinc, selenium, magnesium, manganese and copper. Tests have shown that red clover contains isoflavones, plant-based chemicals that produce estrogen-like effects in the body. Isoflavones have been shown potentially help with menopausal symptoms, such as hot flashes, cardiovascular health, and osteoporosis. However more studies need to be done on this & taking red clover isoflavones as taking estrogen carries its own risk.Red clover is available in teas, tinctures, tablets, capsules, liquid extract, and extracts standardized to specific isoflavone contents.
